HALLOWEEN!!!

Alot went on this weekend... Starting with Friday, Ryan was in a Halloween parade at daycare. All the parents were lined up around the fence of the playground and the kids came out and marched (well kinda strolled or milled around) around. They were dressed in costumes they made in class. Different classes must've had different themes. I'm assuming Ryan's class must've been planets or the solar system or something, because he was "Venus"... Friday nite we continued to get ready for the wedding on Sat. A bunch of people came over and helped and we tested some of the beer. :)

Sat. again getting ready. More beer testing, and then the party. It went very well. We got a lot of compliments on it and on the house itself. A lot of Cheryl's relatives had never been here before. Almost everybody got dressed up, which is what Jeff and Molly wanted... a Halloween costume party/wedding. Jeff was an angel and Molly was a devil. Cheryl was a witch and I was Darth Vader (like I already posted). I have to say that I think my Vader came out pretty good. Only problem... and big problem it was.... I couldn't drink, smoke or even really see for that matter. I tried to run a drinking tube, but not much success. The eyes kept fogging up and it was dark with lots of tiki lamps and candles, so I wore the whole thing for a while, but started losing pieces bit by bit thru the night. I dont think we got any pics of the whole thing totally completed, but I have some pretty near to done. The last stragglers left around 3am.

Today we got up and started cleaning up. It wasn't too bad. Jeff and some of Molly's fam and some others came over and helped. Ryan has been sick since last nite. Started throwing up thru the nite and into today. Got a bug or something.

So now I'm just relaxing a little... whew................

Oh yeah... forgot to mention..... around Mon. We lost 2 "Baby Ducks" (as Ryan calls them). I went out to go to work and found one dead in the yard. One was totally gone and one was cowering in their fenced area. When I got home I was walking around in the yard trying to find footprints to figure out what did it when the neighbors drove by and said their daughter thought she saw a fox the night before... It was my fault because I didn't lock them up in their pen that night because it was pouring rain. I'd left them out a couple times before and they were ok, but it didn't go well this nite. The one that was left (Eggy), wouldn't come out of the pen and just sat there with his head under his wing all the time. Of course I felt really bad, so I started looking into getting him some new friends. I didn't really want to get more ducks because they were doing a number on the yard digging under the grass. So I went to store where I got them originally looking for a couple of chickens. They didn't have any... which I figured they wouldn't considering the time of year. But one of the guys at work had some that he said he wouldn't mind getting rid of, but I'd have to take all 3 so.... Sat. morning I went with Chris, Ryan, Jim and James and came home with 3 chickens ( 2 Rhoade Island Reds and one big white one(?)). Suppossedly they lay eggs, which is cool. So far, Eggy and the newcomers have kinda ignored each other but I hope in time they will be friends.
