grocery shopping made easy

OK... well maybe not easy, but at least a lot more enjoyable.

Let's start here.... I'm one of those jerks most people hate when I pull up to a red light. I like "you" to hear hear "my" music. If the car right next to me can hear it, that's satisfactory. If somebody 4 0r 5 cars away can hear... I'm doing my job. I have to admit, it's not as cool when the sound is coming out of my Chevy Venture Mini-van as it was when I had my Jeep CJ or my old Baja Basher, but you gotta do what you gotta do ya kno....Anyway.... I'm also the same person who thinks you're a jerk if you're blasting something I don't like... certain types of music just aren't meant to be blared out of your car's windows....

  • Classical... I don't think Beethoven had waking up the neighbors in mind with "Symphony No.5".
  • Adult contemporary
  • Country (actually just shouldn't be played anywhere)

you know what... it would be easier to just say what SHOULD be loud....

  • Metal (of course) / Hard Rock and Rap. Yeah I said rap. I, by no means like rap but, the angrier, harder stuff is perfect, just like metal and hard rock for annoying the driver next door.

WHAT IN THE WORLD does all that have to do with grocery shopping?!?!?!. ok.. here goes...

Walking thru the grocery store a couple of months ago I'm looking around at all the people carting their way thru the store, I think "what I need here to get this to an endurable level is some of my own music.... Yeah! What the hell.... Why do I never see anyone in the store wearing headphones???" Next grocery shopping trip I'm ready. Got my MP3 player fully loaded with my "Grocery shopping" mix. SWEET. Grocery shopping just got wayyyyy better. Almost enjoyable. It's like I'm the only person in the store.

Now my trip today..... I stepped it up a notch... still got the headphones going... just a little "louder" than last time. Getting the same look from that lady picking up a can of tomato paste in isle 5 that I got from that nerd listening to Manilow at the light on the way here.

I was doing some grocery shopping in Wal-mart at about 2 in the morning and the P.A. had some sort of dee-jay on it and he was playing metal for something called the house of hair.

At Wal-mart.
