Wet Wet Party

Yesterday we had a graduation party for Andrew. Cheryl has been putting this thing together for weeks. We got 2 big tents, rented tables and chairs, she cooked a TON of food and invited somewhere around 50 - 70 guests. Most of them showed, but I think a few might've held off because of the RAIN ALL DAY..... Not just a nice, cooling, drizzly rain, but a heavy at times, torrential downpour at times, kinda rain. Raining so hard at times that you couldn't hear the person next to you talking. The tents saved the day though! Even though there were a couple of little waterfalls where the two tents came together and the ground under our feet was soon sponge/mud, for the most part you could stay dry. The kids were loving the rain. It was warm enuff that it was ok for them to be out in it running around, playing,riding bikes and shooting water guns. They were soaked... Later in the night it was the grown up's turn to play. A humungous water slide was made out of 3 tarps...Then most of the adults were soaked. Even with the rain, I'd say the party was a big success and most everybody had a good time.
